Machine Check Analysis Tool is a diagnostic utility designed to make low-level hardware error reports understandable and actionable. It parses and interprets CPU Machine Check Architecture (MCA) and Machine Check Exception (MCE) records, as well as Windows Hardware Error Architecture (WHEA) entries, then presents clear summaries that highlight severity, likely root cause, and affected components.

With this tool, you can:

  • Translate cryptic error codes into plain-language explanations.
  • Identify whether issues originate from a CPU core, cache, memory controller, interconnect, or attached device.
  • Correlate events with sockets, cores, and error banks, and, when available, map issues to specific DIMMs or devices.
  • Spot patterns and recurrence to distinguish transient faults from hardware degradation.
  • Export concise reports for incident tickets, audits, or fleet health reviews.

Machine Check Analysis Tool helps system administrators, SREs, and hardware engineers triage instability, plan maintenance, and reduce mean time to resolution when facing CPU and memory-related faults.

Machine Check Analysis Tool is developed by AMD. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 1.0 and 1.1. The names of program executable files are mcat.exe, tool64.exe.

You can check Crash Analysis Tool, The Staking Machine, CheckSum Tool and other related programs like Ashampoo MP3 Check & Convert at the "download" section.
